Dawn Johnson
Dawn opened Mary & Martha Home in NW Indiana 24 years ago. Dawn chose the name Mary & Martha Home (after the two sisters in the Bible who knew Jesus) to remind herself to keep her priorities in line as she began balancing a new business while raising a family.
In 2022 Dawn decided to relocate to Brownsburg to be closer to family, bringing the store with her. In the 20+ years since she opened the store, she has decorated commercial and private spaces and traveled the country to find new and exciting decor. She has even traveled out of the country to study color and become a True Color Expert. Dawn loves when customers bring in photos of an area they're looking to elevate or overhaul so she can help them find the things to make their houses HOME.
Many years and many homes have sharpened her ability to scout out new art and accessories that can be easily added to items already in a home, adding that 'just what you needed' new piece.

Sarah Chastain
Sarah in some ways grew up at the original Mary & Martha Home location in NW Indiana. She watched her mother with awe as this 'hobby' evolved into a thriving business. Over the years Sarah has developed an eye and passion for making a house a home by watching her mother do it over and over again. While Sarah's skills have always weighed heavily on the administrative and relational end of business, the last year has proved she too has the decorating gene.

Sarah has lived in Brownsburg for nearly 10 years with her husband and two children. She has a wide variety of past experience in management and ministry. Outside of work she enjoys as much family time as she can get as well as gardening and being entertained by her chickens.
